With the succesful 2002 season behind Sweeney Racing the new season promises a lot - as well as the Kart team entering their second season.

Ian, pictured at Thunderhill Races, has led the team for the last couple of seasons with notable success. Last year he finished 4th in the San francisco Regional Championship missing two races. This year has shown excellent form and four races into the season sits in 2rd position in the Northern Pacific National championship

He has been racing for over 6 years in both karts, sedans and single seaters. Ian is an intervarsity Karting Champion, was Fiat Ritmo Rookie Champ, 3rd in the Irish Fiat Ritmo Championship and 3rd in the Irish Rookie Fvee Championship.

Conor, younger brother of Ian, is the race engineer on the number 15 car. Although relatively new to the US race scene, Conor has significant experience of the Irish motorsport scene. Conor is a 1st year engineer.

For the 2003 season Ian will have backing from loyal Sweeney Racing sponsors ,Tracey Commercials, Crusader Racecar, SISTech and SWEENdesign Web Development.
